Call For Papers
Due to the increasing quest for high throughput and objective analysis
in the forensic sciences, there is an increasing awareness of the
importance of computational methods in security applications and
criminal investigations. This technical session serves as a platform for
researchers in computer and forensic sciences to discuss current
challenges in forensic investigation and to present latest research
results on methods and applications in computational forensics. The
scope of this session is on the broad spectrum of forensic disciplines
that use automated computer tools for criminal investigation, such as
pathology, biology, drugs, prints, ballistics and anthropology among others.
The topics of interest for submission include, but are not limited to:
Algorithms: Filtering, Image and Data Representation, Image Registration,
Super resolution, 3-D Modeling, Feature Extraction, Data Mining, Search Techniques,
Machine Learning and Statistical Data Analysis.
Applications: Anthropology, Ballistics, Biometrics, Digital
Computer Forensics, Fiber Analysis, Fire Debris, Crime Scence Reconstruction,
Incidence Response, Pathology, Prints, Questioned Documents, Tire Impressions,
Tool marks, Trace, Shoeprints, Vehicles.
